The weather has been so hot today that I’ve stayed inside most of the day…
I did go out to take my dogs and to keep the water filled for the birds and squirrels…
I didn’t want to do housework so I played …again…
With Picasa today…
I didn’t do anything to this one…came straight out of the camera like this…
This time I took the same photo and added a little fill light, a little high light and took the color spectrum toward the blue side…
It doesn’t even look like the same photo!!!
I applied the filtered Black and White this time…sorta hurts to take all that glorious color away!!!
Here I deepened the shadows and added a little light…You just can’t improve on Mother Nature!!!
If I was going to paint from this photo I would use this version since it shows the color delineation areas well…
I added the soft focus here and deepened the shadows to the photo that was above this one…
I can’t tell a lot of difference…
Thanks for visiting and I guess I will have to tackle a little bit of that darn housework now!!!

Oh, Becky! How beautiful! I love sunflowers too. Now you did get up early again and come out to this field to snap? :) You are an amazing photographer.

I think this was wonderful use of your time. Housework will wait for you.
ReplyDeleteWow, this looks great! I haven't even tried to put a simple mosaic together yet! Gotta work on that...
ReplyDeleteThese are such nice photographs! I love sunflowers and they were my mom's favorite flower so growing up they were always around the house. Now I think of her when I have a bunch in a jug or a vase. It looks like you had fun playing around with the features at picasa!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up at Heart and Home!

PS- there is always housework. Playing is better!
I love sunflowers! Great mosaic. I like all the different effects but to be honest, I really like the SOOC shot the best.

Wonderful close-ups. I agree, playing with tints and such is much more rewarding than doing housework!

ReplyDeleteI, too, love sunflowers...wonder why I've never tried to grow them in my tiny garden.? Gotta get some seeds to do that very thing.
Thanks for this fun post...and thanks for coming by to see me. Please come again soon..
I am your newest follower now. :)
Love to see how creative you were with your sunflower images. They make me happy, too! Photography and editing is really an addiction you know! I get up early and either post to my blog, work on my images or go out to photograph something and I'm always bargaining with myself..."O.K. just 15 more minutes, then I'll start the laundry." Ha
ReplyDeleteOh Becky..... I love your puppy on your header..... so sweet!
ReplyDeleteSun flowers are happy flowers...... very pretty!
My favorite flower of all time.
ReplyDeleteThey are such a wonder...

aloha, looks like you had fun experimenting with your software, i like being able to manipulate just enough to get a real feel of the photo without it going overboard and that takes practise....nice job
