Warmify…

I use the free Picasa photo editing program and I think I’m getting ready to make the leap to Photoshop…Help, I need advice…are the numbered versions (Photoshop 8) work on their own or do they just supplement the larger program???

Please visit Mary at Dear Little Red House for more mosaics and Smilin’ Sally for all the blue you ever dreamed of and Met Monday for the metamorphosis I’ve taken these photos through.

  2. I have the photoshop too and am clueless:) I need to take a class so that I can figure out all those options. Looks like you had fun playing with the colors etc.

  3. Oh, Becky, these are beautiful skies, the warmth of the colors!
I do not use Picassa, but I use bighugelabs, however I use PS-CS2, an older version, for my watermark and some templates that my daughter have made for me.
    Enjoy PS, it is fun!

  6. How clever to show the many views. I like them all. I use Picasa just for mosaics---I know nothing else. MB

  7. I really like your collages. I also use Picasa and have so far resisted the temptation to go to Photoshop.

  8. We don't have Photoshop, Becky--but do use Picasa and a couple of mac programs we have. Photoshop is quite expensive I think... Guess I'll stick with Picasa.

Like your first set the best. Isn't it interesting to see all of those different colors of blue???? Gorgeous.

  13. Lovely blue skies and interesting treatments. I've shared our blue skies in mosaics at Sacred Ruminations, shadows & flowers at Happily Retired Gal and pansies at Small Reflections. Regarding Photoshop ... you don't need the whole suite. Photoshop Elements is more than enough to keep you occupied for decades! I'm currently using PSE6 but plan to buy PSE8 soon because it contains tools that look useful. You don't need previous versions to make the program work ... '8' is the most recent version and it makes sense to start with that. If you (or any of your visitors) have questions, feel free to drop me an email (address is in my profile) and I'd be happy to share what I've learned from the Adult School classes I've taken over the past year and a half.
    Hugs and blessings,

  30. Fabulous sky shots!! And I LOVE all of the different versions!!

    Re: your question about Photoshop

I have Photoshop Elements 5 and the new version 8. I have had PSE5 for several years and I'm still learning it. There is a Lot you can do with it - and it doesn't cost very much! I have a link on my site to PSE8 that you can purchase thru amazon - and I think they even have a rebate. They did when I bought it - not sure if that is still running or not. I just bought PSE8 in the past month.
It is stand alone software - so you don't need prior versions or anything like that.
