A walk around my yard…

You just can’t beat a Daisy…IMG_5124

Knockout Roses have been invaded with Japanese beetles so I had to dust them with Sevin…

Lythrum and blue salvia….

This is a sterile version of Lythrum…its usually the star of the flower bed but not this year…

My favorite Daisies with some Lythrum in the background…

The Hydrangea has been beautiful up until this week and our hot weather pretty well wrecked them…

The Hostas are flowering…I usually cut all of these off after they bloom for a week or so…just because I don’t care for the flowers…

  3. We know about Japanese Beetles, Becky... George uses Sevin also.. Wish there was something that would keep them from chewing on the roses to begin with... We don't know of anything--but the Sevin will kill them, after they 'bite'....

We use fertilizer on our grass that is supposed to help get rid of the grubs. So far this year (about the 3rd year we've used it) ---the beetles are better. We have a few---but nothing like we had 3 yrs. ago.

    Beautiful flowers.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  4. Just beautiful! Great photos too. You have many of the same flowers I do. It's nice to see what others have going on in their gardens. Our beetles haven't been too bad yet, but it is still a bit early I think. Little Stinkers aren't they? Actually I could think of a few better names for them. No looking forward to them.
