Outdoor Wednesday Post for Susan @ A Southern Daydreamer’s Home…

[animal.jpg]

I got my camera in January and I haven’t been successful at getting any shots of our squirrels until now…They live in our backyard and are a joy to watch. These white squirrels are not as large as the usual red and brown squirrels but it is so exciting to see them. There are lots of them, I have always thought of them as "families" and as far as I know, they are not albino, just white. I love seeing them raise their babies during the summer and playing together.

  8. The only white squirrel I ever saw was a white flying squirrel at a place we camped at in Missouri -- it nearly landed on my husband! He is so cute -- and I do like squirrels even though they are really rodents -- but they are cute rodents!

  11. Wow! I have never in all of my life seen a white squirrel! I'm just amazed! I've seen gray ones and even red ones, but white ones are something I didn't even know existed! I love them! And Zoe is a hoot... my dogs used to get perturbed by them as well. :-)

    Happy OW!

  12. I wonder where you live and have white squirrels? This is a first for me. Pets and squirrels just bug each other don't they!

  14. Oh cute! There were white squirrels a few blocks from where I grew up. They were all in the block around my elementary school. It was fun to get a glimpse of them from time to time. There were flying squirrels too. Teachers used the opportunity to discuss science and genetics.

  16. We saw a white squirrel up in Hayward, Wisconsin area; but last summer it was gone. I had never seen one before and now yours is the second white squirrel. After getting off the floor from laughter when Zoe showed up, I have to admit this post was a lot of fun! Happy Outdoor Wednesday!
