When we visited Arlington Cemetery in August
I was reminded about how precious our right to vote is.
I thought about these heroes…
they made the ultimate sacrifice to give us
our precious right to vote.
I occasionally get a glimpse into the psyche of someone who
actually dedicated two and a half decades
of his life to give us that right to vote…
It is inspiring and sad…an oxymoron of a courageous life…
Dedication!!!
The men and women who have given us this gift…
and asked for nothing…
Use this precious gift and vote…
to honor them…
I'm so glad we have early voting..... I voted the first day. I hope everyone goes out to vote!

Thanks for this very timely post. I've been to Arlington and found it to be very somber and moving.
ReplyDeleteI was at Arlington in August also. Such a moving and inspirational place. Makes you proud to be and American. We should all thank a veteran everyday for the freedoms we have. It is their sacrifices that gave us our freedom. I am proud to be a nurse for our local Veterans Hospital and even prouder that the veterans choose to come to our hospital for their care, Many could go else where but many say the best care is at the VA. That makes me want to give 110% when I am at work because many of them gave all and then some. Thank you for such and inspirational post.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week
Great post, Becky.... I hope will get out and vote... We voted early --to avoid the long lines today....

When I see your post it reminds me also at all the men who gave their lives to free our country last century, I bow myself deep forward them.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful post Becky. We all should remember and give thanks for the precious freedom we have. Happy voting!
