A Birthday

Today, February 7, would have been my Mom’s eighty-seventh birthday… I’ve written about her before. .. here is a little birthday walk down memory lane…

Madeline…

image

Here she is with me…

image

Some people, like my Mom, were just happy…

image

Madeline loved her family, nieces and nephews, her country and the color red…I never see anything red that I don’t remember her…she loved her God and His amazing graces…and prayed daily that He might envelope her loved ones in His arms…Is there anything more magnificent than a Mother’s love???

image

Red flowers were her favorites…

image

Madeline loved her country like no other person I have ever met…she sacrificed a lot for that country…she would have cried with the lady in the middle photo as she knew what that heartbreak was, she would often gasp with excitement when she saw our beloved flag on display…she would have loved the little girl on the right as she knew what her Mother was experiencing…she would have been in awe of the patriots in the upper left photo who portrayed what our founding fathers experienced …  I miss her so much …

Mary has lots of mosaics for you to visit today…

  6. Oh Becky, Your mother would be so proud of you---and your involvement politically now standing up for the country and its future. She's smiling down I'm sure. I know how much you miss her. I miss my mother too. She died in 1991.

  10. You mom was a beautiful woman. You can see the zeal for life in the smile on her face and the twinkle in her eyes. This Ozarks farm chick knows that no love is like a mama's love. This was a wonderful tribute to her.

From the hills and hollers of the Missouri Ponderosa, ya'll have a wonderfully blessed day!!!

  21. Beautiful post and mosaics in memory of your Mom and her birthday. You certainly were lucky to have such a wonderful bond between you and your Mom. I wanted to tell you that I enjoyed your Glen Beck post. I watch him every night at 5PM when I am home and if I am not I tape his show. Have to love that guy. I wish I was able to go to one of his shows with O'Riely but I am going to the Feedom show this summer and can't wait!

  23. Your mom really glows and it is so lovely that you posted in memory of her today. My mom, who is legally blind from macular degeneration, celebrated her 86th birthday Jan 30. She is still living alone. I am on my way home to GA Feb 17th for 3 weeks to try to convince her she should go into assisted living...she is fighting it tooth and nail. She absolutely won't come to San Francisco to live with me.
