What makes a wonderful party??? People…My friends Jackie and Lou held their annual Christmas Party today. I got to snap photos of the attendees…it was wonderful!!
Don’t you just love “people” photos???
The Hostess…Jackie…note the ceiling where the chandelier hangs, earlier this week…
ummm, yes…this entire section of their ceiling had to be removed…meaning that chandelier had to be taken down!!!
A major repair job had to take place and their annual holiday party had already been planned months in advance.
We photographed everything in the room and removed it…everything…including the chandelier.
Before removal, everything was already covered in dust…
This little beauty came down last!!! Jackie got the job of cleaning every single piece of it before it was re-installed….wwwhhheeewww I was so glad she was there to do that one. It went back up late Friday afternoon!!! The party was less than twenty-four hours later… and Jackie and I had to attend a school reunion at 6 p.m. on Friday night!
I took a lot of photos…just in case…
Everything finally fell into place at the last moment and the party was wonderful. We all were just a “little” tired…
Fresh garnish for the party dishes…can’t get any fresher than this, right out of the herb bed…
Waiting for a bath and then to the party table…
Lou makes the most divine strawberry punch!!!
Getting everything ready…
I'll just bet a lovely time was had by all, ceiling or no ceiling. How could anyone not enjoy themselves in that lovely dining room. To die for gorgeous!

Oh Becky...
ReplyDeleteI would say everyone had a splendid time. The pics of the home and decorating are absolutely beautiful. How gorgeous that chandelier is. It
went back up good as new.
Thanks for sharing sweetie. Country hugs, Sherry
Jackie, hubby and friends must of worked so hard to "make sure it was alright on the night" What a wonderful chandelier. What a lovely welcoming door arrangement she has too. I should think she is a great hostess. Tell her I think my namesake is a great lady,I am sure you are all great friends and very supportive of each other. ReplyDeleteWow Becky, your friend's home is truly sensational! Us Aussies could learn a few things from you about how to throw a good party!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, Natasha.
It looks as if it was a wonderful party. Everything looks beautiful, if you hadn't told us we would never guess that major repairs were done only the week before.
ReplyDeleteBecky, I have a ceiling that could match that one! LOL! Going on five years now and they cannot find the problem....skylights....why did we agree to them? LOL! Looks like a fabulous time! Blessings to you! Luanne
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you posted these great photographs Becky! Roy and I didnt get to see Jackie and Lous house. I have always wanted to.Even back when we were in school and I found out that she lived there. I am so proud that it has been reborn! I know that they must love it there. It is wonderful that she can come back "home" to us. Thanks again. Thanks goes to Jackie for allowing everyone inside! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, I admire all of you! To still have so much energy to party after Thanksgiving. I pretty much just had energy to lounge around on the couch in my stretchy pants...lol. Looks like everyone had great fun tho. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a way to kick off the Christmas season! I'm with Alicia ... admiring your energy to 'party' and decorate already. Taking a walk with Molly and doing a bit of virtual visiting was about MY speed. I love your header. Seeing Zoe always makes me smile ;-)

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dining room -- you can see all the attention to detail.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful home! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful home. I actually did a double take...the hostess looks so much like one of my dearest friends in Ohio! I was wondering why she hadn't invited me! But now I understand. Sweet blog. I'll come back to visit!
