Nandina and Beautyberry

Nandina, Heavenly Bamboo or Sacred Bamboo is an easy-to-grow plant, I started these from some seedlings from my husband’s parents’ home. The entire plant is poisonous except to birds, they are immune to the poisons in it.

I was afraid this might be a weed. Catherine at a Garden In Progress told me that this is a Beautyberry. I think this is the perfect name for this lovely little bush with these gorgeous berries. Thanks Catherine, I’m so relieved that it isn’t a weed.
