Sorry, I just have to rat on myself today.  (holding head low with downcast eyes) I’ve had this secret affair going on since last fall. This spring I realized it had blossomed into an absolute love…

Love for this little red birdhouse…I keep photographing it, it’s sick, I admit…but wait till you see it!!! You may be having a little affair also!!!

Best Friends Forever…

I’ve been collecting some white glass lately. I know, everyone in blogland has been doing the same thing. I’ve always liked white dishes so it fit into the scheme of things around here.  I have a few pieces of real Milk Glass but most is just the white glass…I’m not too snobby…If I like something, I don’t really care if it is authentic or not.

My bff Jackie and her hubby are always giving me things and recently they gave me these beautiful little white milk glass salt and pepper shakers…they’re tiny…but they are gorgeous!!!

image

image

See how cute they are!!! They are so cute with all of my thrifted finds…(dishes from TJM, glasses from Walmart, placemats from Kohls and flatware is mine)…

image Thrifted napkin rings and linen napkins…

imageThe white stacked bowls came from a local antique mall and that cute little white and red doily came from my favorite thrift shop. The rattan huggies on my glasses came from a yard sale last year (spray painted white).

image I found this little milk glass jelly server with a clear glass spoon in Louisville, Ky. recently.

image I love my milkglass cups and saucers that came from an outdoor fleamarket…

image This is the little creamer that matches…

image Thanks….Jackie and Lou…for being you!!!

A Secret Garden…

image

A Peony for Fertilizer Friday…it’s not mine but I was given permission to photograph it!!!  Guess I’d better not be fertilizing someone else’s flowers…so I’ll just flaunt it…

[Copy_of_001[4].png]

I’m also linking to Melissa at The Inspired Room…this garden has been my inspiration today!!!

image

It doesn’t seem to be so beautiful from across the street …but this little corner of the world is just a plethora of beauty…I often drive by this little back street just to see the garden. This time I asked around and found out who owned it and asked permission to photograph it…You just won’t believe what this little piece of heaven has!!!

image The lot this garden sets on is where an old “downtown” building was razed some years ago. All of our downtown buildings are quite old…pretty common for most small towns…

image The peonies and the iris in the above photos were beautiful the day I visited.

imageThis little arbor was just a hint of what was lurking behind the fence…

imageThis climbing rose was growing up against the new steel wall that had been erected beside the old building wall…

image

image I just love coreopsis…sometimes called tickseed!!!

image

imageSee the fence behind the purple iris!!!

imagejust a hint…

imageoooohhhh…the goodies in this basket…

image

imageIsn’t is great!!!

image      image imageimageThis is the gated back entrance…

image   imageimage This is getting entirely too long…stay tuned next week for more shots of this hidden garden!!!
