What a Hornet’s Nest I’ve Stirred up!!!

I’ve stated several times here that I am NOT a political blogger, but I have shared my views recently several times. It is so wonderful that Americans are so engaged in our politics now. It just doesn’t always win me many friends or influence much of anyone. I have chosen to take a political stand for two reasons…My husband spent twenty-five years of his life defending this country from attacks of all types in the submarine fleet of the US Navy.

The second reason that I am so adamant is because of my love for my Mother, I wrote about her here…No amount of writing could ever convey to anyone her patriotism, it was unique and it was earned from a lifetime of heartbreak and tragedy. It reminds me in many ways of the story of Ruth and Naomi in the Bible and I know you probably don’t see the relevancy but it is a story of the most enduring and selfless kind of love.

Justin and his favorite “partner in crime”…

I have relatives that I love --bickering about my posts, good or bad-- I’m not sure -but I’ve definitely caused it. I’m just praying that it might open long lost lines of communication between a family spread so far from each other. Politics that hit this close to home are being dealt with by our representatives in DC.  I’m not seeing these representatives understanding who they work for. I recently saw one individual tell his audience that they could not video “His” town hall meeting because it was “His”…Geeezze….I feel like I’m back in elementary school. Are they so frightened of us or of the truth??? I know that there are some good politicians, I met one of them recently, Bob Corker from Tennessee. I certainly don’t agree with everything he does but I saw “hope” in the form of a principled man with morality.

I’m leaving tomorrow to travel to DC with my wonderful son and my best friend for us to attend the 9-12 rally. We have appointments to talk with some of our representatives from Tennessee and I’m looking forward to meeting them.

Entrepreneur Son and Zoe

My son is a small business owner and a lot of our concerns are about small businesses being overlooked and overtaxed in this difficult economy. Small businesses keep so much of our nation going and the destruction of them will cripple our economy. Government only seems interested in preserving “BIG” businesses.

If your family member is a liver transplant patient…then this lady is his best friend…

Healthcare is another major concern of ours since my friend and my husband are both employed in this industry. It’s such a difficult profession to survive in for many reasons. If national healthcare is adopted, it could very well be the end of funding for the Veterans Administration…Sound outrageous…just wait…Veterans have always been one of our sacred cows along with Social Security and Medicare and funding is supposed to be coming from these two.

The appointment of Czars of this administration is such a troubling issue…why aren’t they vetted and where does their pay come from??? Are they paid from the White House budget??? If that is so, then I think that budget may be way over- inflated. I’ve heard no one discuss how their salaries are being met??? I know we eventually foot the bill and I don’t think I’m happy about it. Why don’t they have to go through any sort of committees that review their words, their associations, their beliefs or if they paid their taxes… I’m tired of someone who lies about his taxes telling the IRS to “stiffen regulations” to make sure we all pay our share. It’s the ultimate Double Standard and it is so wrong.

I’m leaving you with some Pretty pictures!!!image
