Beautiful November Day

We have had two of the most beautiful days here…

Here are a few shots taken in my back yard yesterday…

It was the kind of day that

little white doggies get their face dirty and run like the wind

Zoe played till she was “tired as a dog”!!!

I love when the crops are gone from this field…

I can see our church steeple

We almost lost it to the ice storm two years ago

Veterans and Sequoyah Caverns…

 

Sounds like a strange combination??? 

My hubby is a Navy retiree (25 years with the submarine fleet) and we

recently had the opportunity to visit with someone he served with many years ago.

Roy was also with the sub fleet and is also retired.

This is where the Sequoyah Caverns site comes into my title.

Roy’s  family has owned the Sequoyah Cavern & Homestead land  since 1831.

He grew up on this land and spent his childhood exploring these caverns.

Can you imagine having your own cave to explore???

These photos are all the surrounding buildings on the site,

sorry I didn’t get photos of the inside of the cave, I’ll have to go back to get cave photos.

The cave was beautiful and it wasn’t a difficult walk through it like some caves I’ve visited.

They host weddings and also do sleepovers for groups.

In December they host a Christmas Nativity Pageant, complete with animals.

BTW…The donkey got booted for this year…

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is the actual cave…the red gates are adorned with “bats”!!!

 

Michael and Roy Lee had a wonderful visit while I chased this stupid

peacock around to get a photo!!!

Hey, maybe that’s what they were laughing about!!!

(who won’t be appearing in the Christmas Pageant this year).
