Halloween Tablescape

Things I’ve learned this morning…

1. I don’t have a solid wall to put my dining room table against, the only existing one is where the china cabinet is…

2. I don’t like  hate  photographing  inside my home…

3. It is too dark in here and the walls are too dark…I will paint them this winter!!!

4. Having dogs is like having children…I have a great big pink fish in the background of some photographs…which is almost as bad as the coffeemaker with a towel under it and the container of bleach cleanser in the kitchen…

5. Windows Live Writer is driving me nuts this morning…I’m going to publish this …warts and all…can’t stand it anymore!!! Apologizing for a messy post but I don’t have all day to work with Live Writer…maybe it needs a day off!!!

A Beautiful Kentucky Home

These are some photos of a beautiful home in Kentucky
that my friend Jackie and I stayed in this summer, my photos sure don’t do it justice!!!

The photos above were of the front room,
it faced the street.

image

imageThis is the dining room. When the owners bought this house the window
was boarded up and they had no idea that they had an authentic Tiffany window!!!

imageThis Venetian glass chandelier was in the downstairs powder room, it was
so gorgeous, I have never seen anything so beautiful.

If I’ve posted these before, sorry, I can’t remember if I have or not!

Droid–Replaced, Car-Repaired and Water Heater-Replaced

Good news from here…

The car is fixed!!!

My cell phone has been replaced, it was still under warranty!!!

I even got an upgrade!!! Now I have the new Droid, and I like it even better!!!

Right now, Paul, my friend and favorite plumber is installing a new hot water heater

Woo Hoo…one cold shower was enough for the next couple of decades!!!

The only thing I need to tackle is clean up and that “Samsung” refrigerator from “Hell”…

Clean up will consist of washing every towel etc. we own because we had to use everything to mop up a million gallons of water that escaped from my 30 gallon water heater…It’s like spilling milk…where does all that come from??? Lucky we were both home when it happened and I have a great plumber who came immediately!!! The plumbing God was watching over me on that one!!!

imageNow lets do something fun!!! I played with this photo of Reelfoot Lake in Picasa…adding some texture!!!

It sort of reminds me of an old postcard…

I Certainly Hope You’re Having A Wonderful Day

image

Since mine isn’t going so well…

My Droid committed suicide last night…

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/32/Motorola-milestone-wikipedia.jpg

not my actual phone…just a photo from the “net”…I loved my Droid Sad smile

http://images.lowes.com/product/converted/036725/036725555143lg.jpg

disclaimer…this is not the same model as mine…

My Samsung refrigerator has had the repairmen visit Nine times this year…

No hope

…got it from Lowe’s

…and an extended warranty because they promised that “if it can’t be fixed in three repair calls it would be replaced with a new one”

…aaaahhhheeemmmmm…it has been repaired NINE times…

I still have it and a puddle of H20 (water for us nonscientific folks) in front of it all of the time (yes I have to come home and mop up after my refrigerator every day) !!!

Do they make “puppy pads” for refrigerators???

disclaimer…not his car even though it is this lovely color…this one actually is in better shape!!!

My hubby’s car became a car with “external water effects”…

He had this car before we met…it is his “FIRST LOVE”…

and it travels over 130 miles to and from work five days a week!!!

…and it gets almost thirty miles per gallon of gas…

He loves this car…

I’m playing second fiddle to a 1997 Mercury Sable with “water effects”!!!

I don’t think the warranty is still good Smile

Edited to ADD….Niagara Falls has moved into my laundry room…

Hot water heater committed suicide this afternoon!!!

Perfect end to my day!!!

October Roses And The Grunge

I haven’t had roses to bloom here all summer…between the sizzling temps and the summertime influx of Japanese
Beetles…my roses were just stalks with a few leaves on them this year…
Now…October…they still don’t have leaves but they’ve actually been happy enough to bloom some…
This little bouquet is the only one I’ve had this year so I have to get a lot of mileage from this one!!!

image

image

image

image

imageAll of the textures are from the Square Texture Set at Shadowhouse Creations…

image It’s not a big bouquet but I sure have enjoyed it!!!
This is the photo I started with in my Picasa program.

imageCropped and lightened…

imageI added three cropped images to a photo from yesterday and made a collage/mosaic
using the Picture Pile selection
under the settings tab…
Save the collage/mosaic…

image
I added the “grunge” by superimposing a texture over my mosaic…
To superimpose the texture…
download a texture (this is one of the “Square Textures Set” from here
image
Treat this texture as if it is just another photo and put it in your Picasa selection bar along with the collage/mosaic you want it superimposed over…
You will have two selections marked with a green check…
Click “Collage”
Now select Settings tab..
Now select superimpose…
ta da!!!
Save by selecting “Create Collage”

These textures are designed for photoshop but they worked with my Picasa!!!

image It may be just a little addictive!!!
I hope my directions make sense…Have Fun!!!
