Monday Memories…

Happy Monday…

I just thought I would share some summertime photos that I’ve collected in the past few months…

In other words…nothing new going on here…

image Words of Wisdom found on a restaurant’s bulletin board…

image This car reminded me of this…

image I hope I haven’t insulted some macho guy about his car, but it just reminded me

of sunflowers !!!

image

image

Just a random shot of some corn…we are basically an agricultural area and we have lots

of acres of corn and soybeans…yes it is an allergy sufferer’s “paradise”…

image The ivy is still growing up the front of my front porch…it has been too hot

to do anything about it…

image We saw this at a concert recently…he/she wasn’t the entertainment,

just someone in the audience…makes you wonder where I went, doesn’t it???

image This is one of my very favorite photos of this summer. Col. and Mrs.. Harding…they lost a political race

but it awes me at what they won…the admiration of so many people in our area for one of the

true heroes of the US… (Col. Harding is the 20the most decorated person in the US Armed Forces)

Barbara is the wife who gave him the strength…I’m so proud to call this couple our friends!!!

image P.J. Kellogg, a local Marine, ran 50 miles in the horrible heat honoring his fallen comrade, Izzy O’Bryan, and my blogger buddies

emailed Izzy’s Mom which made me a proud blogger…what a wonderful community we have formed, coming

from all over the world “in friendship”…

image RIP Izzy…

Welcome to my little “Rooster Party”…the party may be little but that rooster…

let’s just say that his growth has not been stunted!!!

Cousin “Fred the Farmboy” might be bringing him…

imageThis little teapot jumped at the chance to come to the party…she even brought her baby chick!!!

imageThey came dressed in their finest yellow and orange silks for this special day!!!

image They are so excited to come today…they came all the way from the thrift shop where they

had been so bored for so long!!! A little fluffing of their feathers and some new silk clothes were all they needed…

imageTheir friend “Red Rooster” is struttin’ his stuff to get to the party on time,

he is coming from the same thrift shop but was living on another shelf…

image Isn’t he a strutter…looking good on his special platter???

image He came all the way from California!!! He calls home “Poppy Trails by Metlox”…

image I think everyone is here…have a seat!!!

image

image I decorated your chair with a couple of “roosters”…

image Those Daisy dishes and crystal work well with our “chicken” dessert bowls…

image Your natural fiber placemat and vintage silver are in place…

image The “City Cousins” are cooped up in the picket fence tray…

image Vintage silver is tied with twine along with your napkin…

image Sunflowers accentuate the little “Brown Hen’s Table Cover”…

The tablecover is a specialty of Lowe’s Professional Painting Tarps…

image Keeping these two behind the picket fence is necessary…

image No party is complete with out our stars…”Salt and Peppa”

image

This Rooster Party stars the following…

Menu

Fresh “Lettuce” Salad with Fresh Tomatoes

Peeking Through Kitchen Chairs…

image A Peek Into What Is Going On In My House…

image Thrifty finds that I’ve certainly enjoyed shopping for…

image I found this little gem this week for thirty dollars…

imageIt needs some work…maybe some paint…what do you think???
Paint or just a refinish???
imageThe American by Fostoria serving dishes and the scarf all came from thrift shops recently…and I didn’t buy all of the Fostoria
since there was a lady behind me with that “drooling” look we are all so familiar with…
I just smiled and placed one divided dish back on the shelf…
she dove in with both hands!!! Just the look on her face was worth it!!!

imageBuddy is checking out the new chest after I stored some goodies in it…
I think everything in here except for a couple of pieces also are thrifted…
I’m sensing a real problem with this thrifting thing…it’s addictive…

imageWhoever owned this was very conscientious in putting this on the inside with tacks…
it was made in Chattanooga, Tn.  that was a bonus…
with a light sanding I think the cedar will smell just as good as new…

imageCraftsmanship…and this company was very proud of their work!!!

imageA little set of s & p shakers I found…

imageMy best friend Jackie gave me these great glasses…
I just love the colored stripes that are on them…
They just beg for a milkshake or an ice cream float!!!
Sounds like a great weekend idea Jackie!!!

imageI found this candleholder yesterday at the thrift shop and filled it from my cabinets…
It cost two dollars and seventy-five cents…

Zoe says she is tired of Buddy getting all of the attention...now it's her turn!!!
Yes, the classic “Zoe do”…half of a haircut…I sure dread the other “half”…
