Heroes, Kiddos and Beauty Queens

The second political event we attended on Saturday was held in Jackson, Tn. It was a salute to our troops, an event honoring current and past military members. FYI…a lot of flags and a lot of well deserved respect!!!

I’ve posted photos of Col. Harding a few times but this is the first time I’ve been able to get Mrs. Barbara in a photo, she is one of those wives who discreetly sink into the background when her hero husband is interacting and being photographed…I decided it was time to get the lady who helped the Colonel become the hero he is…Barbara Harding, this is a salute to you for all you’ve done and sacrificed!!! We thank you Mrs. Barbara!!!

This is what patriotism is all about!!! A local Marine hero, a local young man whose military Hero Dad was senselessly executed by a gang member and the youth of our nation surrounding them with support…nothing could be more representative…of “We Surround You”…a phrase echoed by Mike Slater via Glenn Beck. Two different ways of interpreting the phrase…" We Surround You”.

The Beauty Queen…Miss Oak Ridge…she is competing for Miss Tennessee next week…her Mom and her Mom’s dog…FYI this cutie can sing like the proverbial birdie…Congrats and Best Wishes from Thoughtfully Blended Hearts!!! They’re natives from my “neck of the woods”…

Brunch For An Aspiring Political Leader…

Meet Valerie (Val) and Bill Sanderson…Bill is running for our State Representative…Bill is a small business owner, musician and grows grapes…Val is a teacher…

We had a beautiful cake celebrating the occasion…Lou decorated it himself!!!

We have to counteract that cake with this tasty fruit salad, we also had an egg casserole, blue berry muffins and ham and biscuits….a perfect summertime menu for a hot June morning!!!

I love photographing someone who is taking photos!!! Val is trying to get Michael, LaVonn and Tina to quit having so much fun and pose for her!!! I’m not sure how that turned out…

Murderous Confession….

Succulents…something I am a killer of…I water them to death…I attended a garden class about succulents…at least I got some neat photos!!! I can’t even grow hen and chicks!!!

If I wasn’t a succulent killer I’d try this!!!

Succulent killers shouldn’t even see things like this…

Tootsie has her own cute lil’ red barbeque grill…looks like I could have this one!!!…I like baking cakes!!!…but succulents don’t like me!!! (Turns head away in agony!!!)
