Could Heaven Be Pink???

I have this nice little tree in my yard…it has never bloomed like this…it’s like a pink corsage on steroids!!!

I wish you could stand under it with me…it’s heavenly!!!

I don’t even remember what kind of tree it is!!!

Due to all of my ongoing sinus issues I don’t know if it has any smell…I don’t know if anything smells to be truthful…

I keep trying to edit these photos but have gone back to the original non-edited version of them…sooc shots…

The limbs are unusually shaped…

Republican, Democrat or Independent??? How Can You Tell???

I think Bennie is trying to convince Michael to vote for him, he may have gotten my vote when he came over to talk to us and didn’t disturb my eating that wonderful fish… we discussed his opponent, a dear friend of mine, and we both agreed that Treena is one classy lady!!! Does that sound like our national politicians??? No !!!

Gordon Fox is running for an office here in our county that another friend of mine has held for twenty plus years. She is retiring. He brought us some notepads with his name and photo…his election isn’t until November. I think he knew everyone in the building!!!

Judy Barker is an incumbent and visited and gave out some Tennessee travel literature. Judy is a self employed lawyer and her husband is a self employed health care individual. Small towns ya know!!!

There was another local politician who arrived after I left…his wife and family were there but I failed to get photos of them…sorry Jimmy!!!

Good ole Southern sweet tea was served by these two ladies…Becky (left) and her husband will be attending our next class of 1970 reunion planning meeting on April 10…I see more fun to photograph then!!!

Love and Politics Do Mix Here In The South!!!

If you’ve ever wondered about true Southern Living, what makes it work, what makes it Heavenly or why we think the South is God’s country…this should answer your questions!!!

True Southern Cuisine…cooked with love…by a community of Americans who love their God, their country and their neighbors…

…and Politicians from every party showed up …some of them were native to the community, these were their “children”, and local politicians who were warmly welcomed but who didn’t represent this community’s beliefs…

pssssttt…you couldn’t tell the difference by the way these people were treated…all were embraced by the love of a community that knew their roots and had no difficulty loving everyone who came and were nourished by wonderful food and a Southern kind of LOVE… This is what we, as a country want to preserve!!!

That PERFECT bite of freshly fried Catfish…steaming…on the way to my mouth!!! Heavenly!!!

See this hushpuppy…there is an art to a perfect hushpuppy…crispy on the outside and smooth and soft and tasty on the inside…I’ve gone to heaven on this one…perfection!!!

Coleslaw, french fried potatoes and sweet pickles completed this Southern meal…We anticipate this annual community fishfry all year long…It is prepared by volunteers in the community…yep VOLUNTEERS, hardworking people with jobs, families, farms and everything else that goes with busy lives. They find the time to serve their fellow neighbors!!! I’ve been attending for several years, I didn’t grow up there, I don’t own property there, I have no physical ties to this community, but they welcome me each year with open arms and smile when they see my camera come out of my handbag.
